Saint Tropez
Saint Tropez is this little land corner which offered to Peter Polo the possibility to live from his passion of sailing, which didn’t prevent him to regularly spend some times in India to play polo (and vow a truly passion for the elephants) and also follow the dream of his father.
Who was Peter Polo ?
Nobody really knows who was Peter Polo, but it’s obvious that he was a local legend.
We know that he was english, he grew up in India before the war, where his father was an ambassador for the British Empire.
His father was quite a character. Passionated polo player, he prefered to ride elephants than horses.
The story tells us that Peter Polo came to Saint-Tropez at the end of fifties and moved on in a fisherman hut, by the sea.
The talented Peter Polo
He didn’t work a single day, but some people told that he was actually in the service of the Queen… He was always elegant and as polite as only an english man could be. He delighted wealthy people, but also ordinaries mortals with his extravagant mind, his immaculate style and his unrivalled sense of humour. Oh… he also never spoke any french word in his whole life. He was often presented as : the talented Peter Polo
The polo shirt
Peter Polo nowadays
It’s the own Peter Polo’s polo shirts collection, accumulated over the years and during his wandering, which probably inspired one of his best friends, Louis Pasta, for the creation of a ready-to-wear brand clothes, during his last trip in India. And quite naturally, the collection has been signed by his surname and the symbol of his favorite animal, the elephant.
This season, Peter Polo offers four differents themes collections :
- Wild Dunes : A mineral capsul with blue tones, inspiration sourcen : Atlantic coast, seashore walk, a revival, en energie... A precious line of polo shirts, sweaters and pants to wear starting with the first sunlights.
- Atlantic Seashore : Peter Polo enjoys the frist signs of Spring on the Dune of Pilat, his foot in the sand but not yet in water... Seashore theme firmly graphic, it associates prints reminding wild nature of the West Coast to strong, fresh and funny colours, specific to the nautic codes.
- Hinterland Parenthesis : The heat takes its marks, warming the stones of the village houses of the mediterranean coast up. Smooth hues are being mix to the acid figures of our adventurer who decided to tale a break in the hinterland.
- Back to Mediterranean Coast : From the rockly inlets to the Provençal hinterland, it's very close and Peter Polo feels free to come and go according to his desires. Sea trips on the boat of childhood friends, aperitif under the shadows of olive trees at an artist villa. The aquatic and acid colours are being mix with fruits hues, more saturated.
